The room was nice, even for a family of four. The room offered everything we needed and had enough space for us to move freely. The location of the hotel was great, close to the freeway without being too loud, and not near the busy part of the city. The activities were great, especially for the kids. The restaurant was upscale, but delicious. The staff was very nice and accommodating. The air conditioner was a little weak to cool the entire place. The Wifi was also weak at times. The only other thing I would have preferred were later open hours for the rec room.

As we entered the lobby there was a pungent odor reminiscent of Abercrombie and Fitch cologne. Our room had outdated 1960's decor. There were mystery stains on the couch. The entire surface of the floors felt like they were covered in sand. When I wiped up some water on the floor the kleenex was black. The murphy beds were lumpy and the TV cable wasn't working. Fortunately a kind young man from the front desk came to reboot it. My son found blood spatter stains on the sheets of the queen bed. We had to pay $25.00 per car for parking. There wasn't any instructions for the coffee maker so I winged it. The coffee in the lobby was only available a limited time during the day. We had to wear these tacky wrist bands to identify that we were guests. We may have had better accommodations at Motel 6 and free parking. I would skip this place.

The location is great as it is within walking distance to the beach. The room was not ready when we arrived, prior to 4 pm. The room was made ready closer to 6 pm. The room had an extremely strong aroma of bleach so we had to ventilate it for a couple of hours before going in. The pull-out couch is very worn, especially the mattress. It was more comfortable to sleep on top of the closed couch. The separate bedroom was nice to have as it provided some privacy. Overall, the experience was good given that it is a dated property. The pool and other amenities like the fitness center are a big plus. It is within a reasonable driving distance to San Diego attractions and it provides a quiet place to rest. It deserves a second visit
